Akumal Norte Security Update
Akumal Norte remains calm and safe with increased vigilance
Following the recent murder in the Akumal Pueblo, overall security awareness has been heightened throughout the area. While these incidents did not occur within Akumal Norte, they have created understandable concern among residents, staff, and visitors. In response to these events, the Municipality of Tulum has significantly increased police presence in the Pueblo, with more frequent patrols and visible monitoring along key access routes. This increase in municipal activity has been helpful and reassuring.
Security operations in North Akumal have remained stable over this time, with no major incidents or breaches reported within the community. Daily patrols and gate operations continue to function smoothly, and communication with our security personnel has been active and consistent. Vecinos maintains close communication with our security team to ensure that any developments in the Pueblo are monitored and that we can respond appropriately if needed. At this time, there is no indication of elevated risk within Akumal Norte, but we will remain vigilant.
Security Gate Operations
Gate operations remain a core component of our community’s security strategy. Several updates have been implemented:
Coordination With External Authorities
In light of recent events, we have continued to strengthen communication with local authorities. Security leadership maintains open lines with the Tulum municipal police and the National Guard, who have reaffirmed their commitment to increased patrols and support in the greater Akumal area. This coordination is essential as we work collectively to ensure the safety of both residents and surrounding communities.
Community Awareness
We remind all residents and property managers to remain attentive, report unusual activity promptly. While North Akumal remains a low-incident community, proactive communication from members remains a key part of maintaining our safety.
