New U.S. Treasury Department Rules Block Credit Card Payments to Vecinos
Please try to send payments via Mexican bank transfer or cash
New U.S. Treasury Department restrictions announced June 25 block money transfers by wire and other means to three Mexican banks, which unfortunately include Intercam, which is Vecinos' bank.
As a result, Intercam cannot accept deposits from Stripe, Vecinos credit card payment processor. Stripe will still accept credit card payments for dues and donations, but those payments will not reach Vecinos until either the restrictions are lifted or until Vecinos is able to open a second bank account unaffected by the restrictions to receive Stripe payouts.
We are working on establishing a new bank account but this will take time due to complications of opening accounts in the name of Civil Associations like Vecinos. Until that is complete and linked to Stripe, we would be grateful if payments could be made by Mexican bank transfer or in cash. If you don't have a Mexican bank account and are not in Akumal, your property manager might be able to help by making payments on your behalf.
We apologize for the inconvenience and we are working to get it resolved as soon as possible.
