Urban Image, Recycling, and Wastewater Management
Urban Image Project
This Spring, we initiated a collaboration with La Salle University of Cancun, engaging their architecture and engineering graduates in a significant community project for Akumal.
Under the guidance of Architect Javier Muñoz from Merida, who has generously provided free consultation and advice, we have developed a comprehensive set of specifications and requirements for the Urban Image project. Architect Muñoz has also provided a detailed document outlining what to request from the university graduates, including the number of professionals needed, the work plan, schedule, and other relevant information.
The format with detailed information has been submitted to the university’s Jefatura de Vinculacion Academica Social y Profesional. La Salle University will announce the project through their social media, newsletters, and billboards to attract suitable candidates.
Next, we will conduct interviews with the applicants and select the most qualified individuals for the project. We will keep you updated on our progress.
Recycling Project
We are pleased to announce the formation of a dedicated team of community members and representatives from CEA (Centro Ecológico de Akumal) for our new recycling initiative. This collaborative effort is focused on developing a comprehensive plan to train and educate the entire community about the initiative, including workers and visitors.
We are creating a campaign to introduce the recycling project to everyone. It is essential for the entire community to get involved and actively participate in this important effort.
Additionally, Experiencias Xcaret Parques has generously agreed to support the project by providing both materials and labor. We will be holding more meetings soon to discuss the details and will keep you updated on our progress.
Wastewater Management Project
Our team is actively exploring options for alternative waste management systems that are regularized and legally verified to offer to our community.
In the meantime, we strongly encourage all property owners to regularly inspect their wastewater systems and septic tanks to ensure they are functioning correctly and not leaking.
Remember, if septic tanks and wastewater systems are not properly maintained, waste can end up directly in the ocean, which poses a serious threat to our environment and local economy. It is crucial to be mindful of where your wastewater is going.
Here are five practical tips for maintaining or checking your wastewater treatment and septic tanks:
By following these tips, you can help ensure your wastewater treatment or septic system remains in good working condition and avoids potential issues.
Please check and maintain your waste systems diligently. We need to safeguard our oceans, cenotes, lagoons, and overall environment for the well-being of our community and the health of our natural resources.
Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to preserving our beautiful surroundings.
