Emergency Road Repair in Akumal Norte
A Swift Community Response
Emergency road repairs in front of the Playa Caribe condos were successfully completed during the week of August 18, ensuring safe and smooth transit for all residents and visitors. The condition of the road had deteriorated significantly and it was in danger of collapse, creating a serious safety hazard.
Vecinos maintains Akumal Norte's road and infrastructure and took prompt action. Spearheaded by Vecinos' Maintenance Committe chairman and Vecinos board member George Pritchard, with the help of Jamie Cost and Mike Stone, the project was a remarkable example of community collaboration and efficiency. The repairs were completed in a single week and caused minimal disruption to local traffic, allowing the community to carry on with its daily activities virtually unaffected.
In a heartwarming display of solidarity, community members rallied to support the initiative, donating the money needed to complete the work in response to a community email appeal.
Vecinos is committed to maintaining the Akumal Norte's infrastructure. The association identified the problem, worked with contractors to find a safe and cost-effective solution, and worked to ensure the project’s successful completion.
Vecinos, along with all members of the community, extends its deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to this vital project. Your support has not only improved our roads but also strengthened our sense of community. Thank you for making Akumal Norte a safer and better place for all!
Vecinos' mission is to enhance the resilience and sustainability of our infrastructure and meet the evolving needs of our residents and visitors alike.
