I should be allowed to run for VP

I submitted my name as candidate for Vice President of Vecinos but the board has decided I am not eligible to serve in this role (even though I’m in Akumal a large portion of each week, though I rest my head in Puerto Aventuras) and is refusing to recognize me as a candidate for VP.

I am writing as a member of Vecinos de Akumal Norte to express my opposition to the board’s ruling and my disappointment that the board made no effort to share news about their decision with the rest of the Vecinos members.

Many of us in the Akumal community feel that Vecinos is steadily losing community support.  I’ve watched it rise and fall over my lifetime and it’s all about community participation.  Many prominent members have left.  It needs community support to survive and thrive, but in order to do that, it needs to represent its members.  Most owners feel that that is not happening, including right now in this discussion.

No one knows North Akumal like I do.  I’m asking that my eligibility for Vice President be added to the Order of the Day for the General Assembly and my Bio be changed back on the website.  Let the membership decide at the start of the meeting.
