Scott was elected President of Vecinos in 2025 after serving for a year as Vice President. His background includes:

Ingrid has served on the Vecinos board since 2020 and was elected Vice President in 2026. She chairs the Vecinos Government Committee and has been involved with the Akumal Norte Security Program since its inception, before Vecinos took over managing it.
Ingrid’s experience includes ecology, event planning, real estate rentals, and property management, arts, dance, and theater, photography, and painting as a hobby.
She is currently John Allen's personal assistant and archivist and works with the institute of Ecotechnics. As vice president of ADMAK, the local Akumal Property Managers, Ingrid is active in the local community.

Liane was elected Secretary of Vecinos in 2026.
She first came to Akumal in 2015, and fell in love with its unique charm. Buying a condo in La Bahia in 2020 has fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning property in a beautiful tropical paradise.
She has been a member of Vecinos since 2021, getting involved with the communications committee and the sargassum committee before becoming Secretary. She felt she needed to help with the worsening sargassum catastrophe in Half Moon Bay, so she became an HMB Sargassum Committee member, and eventually a board member of EPA (Eco Proteccion Akumal). She’s been involved with contract management, fundraising, communications and financial reporting.
Along with a career in Data Technology Sales, her hobby has been barbershop (a capella) singing. She’s been in multiple singing groups, as well as a musical director, coach and judge. She also enjoys making handmade jewelry, traveling, and hanging with friends.

Peter was elected an At-Large member of the board in 2026, having previously served two terms from 2021 to 2024. He has been President of the Mi Casa del Mar homeowners association for 11 years . He and his wife, Barbara, have owned their condo at Mi Casa del Mar for 27 years, splitting time between Akumal and their home in Boulder, Colorado. He is an energetic advocate for the community of Akumal Norte.

Craig was elected an At-Large Member of the board in 2026. He has been an owner at Playa Blanca since 2016 and purchased Casa Caribe last year, where he now resides permanently.
Before moving to Akumal, he owned and operated a successful building supply business for 21 years. He sold the business and retired in 2020, choosing Akumal Norte not just as a destination, but as his home.
He has actively participated in—and personally helped fund—multiple projects supporting our local community and schools, including Akumal Rocks, and funding Pickle Ball equipment and classes in the Pueblo. He is also helping a local contractor improve his operations by financing new equipment, preparing bids, and other business expertise.
He currently serves as HOA President at Playa Blanca, working hands-on to protect property values, improve operations, and strengthen collaboration within our neighborhood. When not working on community matters, you’ll usually find him at Casa Caribe training and caring for the six dogs he's rescued locally.

Jon was elected an At-Large Member of the board in 2026. He first came to Akumal in 1984 and remembers Akumal before paved roads, piped water, reliable phone service, internet, or streetlights.
He spearheads Akumal’s virtual platform and community outreach efforts, including hosting monthly Vecinos Board Meetings, developing and managing our online election system, and organizing and facilitating virtual Annual and Extraordinary Meetings. He served as Director of Elections in 2024 and 2025.

Mike was elected an At-Large Member of the board in 2026. He and his wife, Gayle, have been coming to Akumal since 2017 and fell in love with the culture, the community spirit, and the warmth of the people. After years of returning, they purchased their dream beachfront home at Luna Azul and decided they didn’t want to be bystanders anymore. Today, Mike serves on the Executive Board at Luna Azul and is a member of the Half Moon Bay Sargassum Project.
Prior to retiring, he spent 35 years owning and operating auto repair facilities, where he learned to listen first, learn fast, ask the right questions, work out the problem, and deliver. He is focussed on effective, practical sargassum action, restoring Half Moon Bay's economics vitality, and strengthening representation and participation, particularly among part-time owners.
