Dear Neighbors, 

After review, there were 102 ballots cast out of 136 eligible voters. Paper ballots at the meeting accounted for 59 of these, and the remaining 43 were cast online. Two online ballots in addition to the 43 were discarded as invalid because the members did not attend the meeting. 

Final results of yesterday's election are as follows:

Vice President:

Ingrid Datica - 95 votes *elected for two-year term*
Rhett Schober -  3 votes
Abstain - 4 votes

Secretary:

Liane Perry - 55 votes *elected for two-year term*
Dan Freeman - 47 votes

Members-at-Large:

Jon Kantor - 83 votes *elected for two-year term*
Craig Conklin - 60 votes *elected for two-year term*
Peter Swenson - 59 votes *elected for two-year term*
Michael Dunning - 54 votes *elected for one-year term*
George Pritchard - 49 votes
Monica Estrada - 48 votes
Mike Stone - 48 votes

Congratulations to the incoming Board of Directors and thanks to all the candidates for their willingness to serve. Elections bring out strong feelings on all sides because we all love Akumal and passionately want what is best for it. I hope the community will come together behind the incoming board as they continue the ongoing work of protecting and improving the community and the association. And I hope those who are retiring from the board will remain committed to the association and the community by serving on committees so their passion, knowledge, and experience will continue to benefit the association and the community we all love.

Después de la revisión, hubo 102 papeletas distribuidas entre 136 votantes elegibles. Las papeletas de la reunión representaron 59 de estas, y las 43 restantes se emitieron en línea. Felicitaciones al nuevo Consejo de Directores y gracias a todos los candidatos por su disposición a servir. Las elecciones generan sentimientos fuertes en todas partes porque todos amamos a Akumal y queremos apasionadamente lo mejor para ella. Espero que la comunidad se una detrás de la junta entrante mientras continúan el trabajo en curso para proteger y mejorar la comunidad y la asociación. Y espero que aquellos que se retiran de la junta sigan comprometidos con la asociación y la comunidad, sirviendo en comités para que su pasión, conocimiento y experiencia continúen beneficiando a la asociación y a la comunidad que todos amamos.
